She took a lot of photos of area residents, their children and the town. If you have a family that has been in Oakland a long time, I'm sure you have a Sanderson photo.

DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE THIS BUSINESS WAS LOCATED OR ANYONE IN THE PHOTO?

Oakland, Ill souvenir glass- bought off of ebay a couple years ago- ruby flash:
The red(ruby) flashing is not in the glass, put applied to the outside- the glass is pressed glass- was pressed into a mold. The writing is not etched, but a decal applied over the flashing.
Since the red is flashed on and not in the glass itself- these items will scratch easily.
Tiffin Glass Company had a line of Kings Crown (Thumbprint) that were flashed- not only in ruby- but other colors as well. They later sold their molds to Indiana Glass.

Old Settlers Meeting

The Old Settlers Meetings were held for 5 years- beginning in 1895. This was on display at the Museum this past winter. Sorry for the scan. It wouldn't lay flat.

The top photo is of the Oakland basketball team and the second is unknown.
