Nina Lee Brasington won the pocket watch posted on eBay last night. Kathy Pardi had checked the blog and then massed emailed it out. Nina Lee called Kathy to see if she could bid on it for her, so Kathy bid on it.
Nina Lee is not a descendant of either the Pembertons or the Moffetts, but her father, John Rutherford, who ran the bank, worked with Thomas Moffett. Nina Lee bought it in case it had something to do with Thomas and she wanted something to pass on to her great grandson, Levi Rutherford Houk that had something to do with her dad's business.
It will stay in the Oakland area.
I'm going to be checking on my research and local family trees to see what I can find out for her to go along with this really great piece.
Posted with Nina Lee's permission.
