Oakland Illinois Genealogy

Kim Mcgee of Newman, is putting together a Barn Tour of barns from Oakland up to Newman for the 26th of April- so there isn't much time.
He would like to have someone from days gone by, to write something about the old wood barns that are quickly leaving the landscape as new pole barns are being raised more and more.
Do you have any stories or memories of your old family barn you would like to share?
Maybe you could tell who built it and when, how it was made, what it was used for and what happened to it if it no longer exists. Even a funny story from childhood would be fun.
